At Southern Federation of Dance, we are more than just a dance society. Our annual events bring dance communities together.
It is important to us to provide learning and performance opportunities for students – challenging them and taking them out of their comfort zone while building their confidence. Our events also prioritise learning and networking opportunities for teachers and studio owners.
Held in Melbourne every second year prior to the commencement of Term 1, our Convention allows teachers to learn and refresh their knowledge of syllabus in preparation for the year ahead.
Run by highly qualified Southern Federation of Dance educators, our Teaching Course instils skills and knowledge to prepare and support dance teachers of the future.
Our Masterclasses are a valuable exam preparation tool for studios and a unique opportunity for students to learn directly from a qualified Southern Federation of Dance examiner. Masterclasses are run annually in Jazz, Classical and Tap in Levels 3 and above, and are held at a central location.
Southern Federation of Dance’s annual competitions are well-known for the friendly, encouraging and supportive environment. Held mid-year in Melbourne, this event is open to the wider dance community, with scholarships offered exclusively to SFD exam students in Jazz, Tap and Classical.
